SHOPPERS at the Marks and Spencer Simply Food store in Torquay were disappointed at the announcement that the shop is set to shut. Marks & Spencer Simply Food in Park View shopping centre and T&G Allan in Whitley Road made their announcements this week. Nationally, 25 Simply Food stores will be closed along with two main branches, with the potential loss of up to 780 jobs. Management, however, is taking action to reduce costs and is reviewing the store portfolio, particularly the Simply Food stores.
