Mr. Bean protects the right to mock over gay

British komik Rowan Atkinson ( "Mr. Bean") is afraid that the right to release to the gay jokes fall victim to new legislation aimed at combating homophobia and religious hatred. The Telegraph newspaper explained that the actor is referring to the forthcoming adoption of the Criminal Procedure Act. It has an article that the incitement of hatred against homosexuals may punishable by seven years' imprisonment.

Atkinson said that the following legislative initiatives extend to the disabled and transgender, and then to "all people who have nothing can be divided so, who they are: for instance, men or women. Or people with big ears."

Minister of Justice of the UK Jack Straw claims that Atkinson fears are unfounded: the law is intended to protect against threats of physical violence, and not from jokes.

In 2004, Rowan Atkinson, a champion of freedom of speech, participated in the campaign against the law on incitement to religious hatred.
